The event which was held under the theme, ‘Uplifting Youth’, was designed for young people to socialize among themselves.
Pepper Ranks kicked off the event, with some of his latest hits, managing to get an appreciative response from the small but spirited crowd.
The seven young beauties vying to become the 2011 Talented Teen Queen made an appearance, along with the reigning queen.
The event also saw the National Carnival Committee, honoring Kim Collins and the members of the St. Kitts & Nevis Men’s 4x100meters Relay Team, for their inspiration to youth. Also, members of the audience were given a chance to take pictures with the athletes and to get autographs.
The highlight of the rally was the performance by the local music group, The Upstairs Family, which featured Footsy, Nicha-B and Dj- Rinch, performing all of their top hits of 2011.
They really entertained the crowd who joined in the singing of their favorite songs and had a good laugh when the performers applied their talents in the soca art form, trying dance moves we are not accustomed to see them doing.
